NicoTests® Cotinine (Nicotine Metabolite) Saliva Test

The NicoTests® Cotinine Test Device is a saliva test for the detection of Cotinine. Cotinine is a metabolite of nicotine. 

This test detects Cotinine in oral fluid/saliva at cut-off concentrations of 30 ng/mL. This is the standard US level for oral fluid nicotine/cotinine tests. Saliva concentrations of Cotinine reflect blood levels. Typical detection is from one hour after the use of nicotine products up to four days. This assay provides only a preliminary analytical test result. Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is the preferred confirmatory method. 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Remove the test from the foil pack.
2. Collect a saliva sample in the small collection cup provided.
3. Pour or pipette the saliva into the test well, marked with the letter S.
4. The test will begin to run as soon as the saliva is poured into the test well.

   Note: There is no significance to the intensity of lines. 

   Even a hint of a second line is definitely negative.
