The NicoTests® Cotinine Test Device is a saliva test for the detection of Cotinine. Cotinine is a metabolite of nicotine.
This test detects Cotinine in oral fluid/saliva at cut-off concentrations of 30 ng/mL. This is the standard US level for oral fluid nicotine/cotinine tests. Saliva concentrations of Cotinine reflect blood levels. Typical detection is from one hour after the use of nicotine products up to four days. This assay provides only a preliminary analytical test result. Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is the preferred confirmatory method.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Remove the test from the foil pack.
- Collect a saliva sample in the small collection cup provided.
- Pour or pipette the saliva into the test well, marked with the letter S.
- The test will begin to run as soon as the saliva is poured into the test well.
